Tote Extravaganza

Inspired by my header...I finally got around to making myself a little purse/tote bag. I had a houndstooth jacket that I got at the D.I. about a year ago. It was unfortunately cropped, so I didn't buy it for wearing. But the fabric was just too great to pass up. It is a heavy & thick knit material. I cut up the jacket and paired it with a contrasting floral on the inside and the embellishment flower. I kept the selvage on the flower just for fun. (Some selvages are SO pretty!)  I love the harsh houndstooth print with the soft floral. And when I get sick of the flower, it is removable!

Caroline's old scripture bag that I made her was on the ghetto side. So I made this one for her birthday yesterday. She loves this color of green and I am loving houndstooth, so this one was rather fun.

Small Girl's Tote

I used my favorite tote bag tutorial and whipped out this precious reversible tote today for Stella's friend's birthday party. Doesn't this just look like it belongs to a little lady named Violet? It was tough to let this one go...

Funky Scripture Totes

I made these scripture totes for the twins for Christmas. They have been baptized for almost 2 years and had their own quad for almost a year so I figured it was long overdue. It was the only homemade thing I could manage this time around.  Caroline helped me put the fabrics together. The black & white fabric was a little girls shirt that had a hole in hit.  I really liked how they both turned out.

library bag, book bag, piano bag, tote bag

i followed an interesting tutorial on youtube to make this tote bag. i used two coordinating fabrics from joann's. i liked this tutorial because the bag is totally reversible. the tutorial, although helpful, is kind of lengthy and wordy. but sewing this bag is quite simple. the size of the bag as well as the length of the shoulder strap can be adjusted, depending on what you're wanting the bag for.
