Personalized Pillows {Faith} & {Natalie}

i made this pillow for a sweet friend of my girls' named faith. faith and her mother just went berzerk over this pillow.

faith's name and the flower were sketched freehand and then hand-embroidered on muslin. you can decide how detailed you want your embroidery to be. sometimes i only do the name. i added some sweet simple (and cheap!) crystal beads to the petals for embellishment. it added some nice detail. i tea-dyed the muslin and then washed it. i loved how the back of this one turned out. it was one of those things i didn't plan but kind of lucked into. the back coordinating fabric panel was cut a bit smaller than the front and so the front panels blended right into the back making a really nice round shape. after i made this, i realized that handmade gifts are not only free (if you have some supplies) but way more thoughtful too!
(above) this pillow was for another friend's birthday. i used beads and a vintage button on this one.
